Brewing coffee with a French press doesn’t take a professional. However, making a quality pot of coffee that will stay at the optimal temperature and won’t get filled with the grounds takes a bit more ingenuity.

We’ve tried many French press coffee makers. The coffee brewed by a glass French press easily becomes lukewarm after steeping for four minutes, especially in the cold winter. This time, we tried a sturdy stainless steel French press from Barista Warrior. Can it brew a better cup of coffee? Let’s find out.

What Sets Barista Warrior Apart From Other French Presses?

The Barista Warrior French Press brings excellent tasting and easily prepared coffee into the home of anyone.

With a vacuum insulated design, dual filter, and a thermometer built-in, this double-wall stainless steel French press provides optimal control of the quality of the coffee, bringing out flavors and keeping your coffee hot.

This design replaces the traditional glass exterior and single filter, which can get the job done but will not reach the same standard.

Older designs would use thin or sometimes clipped-on plastic handles. Instead, the Barista Warrior french press design is made with a sleek and sturdy handle built into the stainless steel frame.

Design and Build Quality

The one we tested is the matte black version, you can also choose grey, silver, or matte white according to your preference. Compared to other glass French presses, we think the BW French press is stylish and looks great on the countertop.

Its handle is designed with an ergonomic grip to make the whole experience even more comfortable. The stainless steel is built to be durable and shouldn’t corrode at all over time, either.

This double-walled French press coffee maker is made for the perfect temperature regulation. Everything, from the insulating, double-layered walls and the thicker material on the outside, keeps the coffee piping hot while you don’t feel a thing grasping the coffee maker.

The Barista Warrior’s French press has a double filter, meaning there’s less risk of finding little bits of coffee grounds making their way towards the surface.

Of course, the key to all this is the built-in thermometer which gives an accurate reading during the whole process. You don’t need an extra thermometer for brewing delicious coffee.

Ease Of Use

Like any coffee making, you should follow a specific process to get the best results. However, Brewing coffee with a French press can be one of the more accessible options, whether you are an amateur or an aficionado. All you need is hot water, good coffee for French press, and your Barista Warrior French Press. If you are not familiar with French press brewing method, you can find detailed instructions in the box.

Here are the simple steps to follow to make the perfect cup of coffee with the Barista Warrior French press.

  1. Start by selecting 30g of coarsely ground coffee. This choice is a very personal one, with so many types of coffee on the market these days, each with a unique flavor and aroma. Add these to the Barista Warrior french press.
  2. Next, heat the water to 195 to 205F (91 to 96C) in the kettle and add 500ml of water. The Barista Warrior french press can hold up to a liter of water at its maximum.
  3. Make sure to stir and soak all grounds. This quick and straightforward mid-way step will help draw out as much flavor as possible.
  4. Pull up the plunger and rest the lid on top of the brew chamber. Let the coffee steep in hot water.
  5. After letting the coffee sit for about four minutes, press down on the top of the french press slowly.
  6. Finally, you’re ready to serve. Grab your favorite mug or teacup.

French Press Coffee Quality

The Barista Warrior french press has been designed for each user to have maximum control over the final outcome. The extra filter screen prevents coffee grounds from slipping through but allows the natural oils for a thicker coffee. In addition, the sturdy, vacuum-insulation chamber keeps coffee warm during the whole brewing process. You can assure every brew will be of high quality.

Having a smooth cup of coffee is nice, but it’s even nicer going back for a second cup and having the whole experience again. That’s hardly a concern since the temperature will last longer in this stainless steel design.

Whether to share amongst three or four people who can’t all sit down to drink at once or if you know you’ll want to grab another for yourself later, keeping that coffee hot is more than just a perk.

As long as you use freshly ground coffee, keep an eye on the thermometer to ensure the perfect brewing temperature, and use the ideal coffee to water ratios, you can make a flavorful cup of coffee every time.

Ease Of Cleaning

The Barista Warrior French press is designed to be easy to clean. While it is not dishwasher safe, this model easily disassembles and can likewise reassemble without hassle. With few moving pieces, there is little work to be done anyway.

The filter system can be easily unscrewed for washing and put back together. The second filter should not add any more difficulty here either. Just clean it normally with any brush or sponge.

Other than the filters, the smooth edges in the shape of the french press make it easy to rinse or thoroughly wash out the body of the device.

Value For Money

Compared to other models that cost more without offering all the same features, the price of the french press from Barista Warrior stands out.

Traditionally models use glass carafes, which might look pretty, but if you’ve got to wait a few minutes for the first cup of coffee alone, it won’t stay warm. This design allows for superior heat retention even for the second cup. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, a stainless steel french press is apparently more durable and portable.

Not only that, but the warranty is good for up to a year. If you aren’t totally satisfied with the french press, you will get a full refund. This purchase is risk-free and won’t cost nearly as much as competing models.

Great Products from Barista Warrior

Barista Warrior makes more than just the French press. We’ve tried all of their products and love them. Check out our hands-on review of the Barista Warrior’s pour-over kettle and dripper.

BW Pour Over Gooseneck Kettle

This BW gooseneck pour-over design is great for any professional and just as straightforward for an everyday coffee fan. The kettle has a pour-over style, with a ripple down the kettle’s body and a thin spout.

Get going brewing by measuring out in the coffee filter and placing the kettle on the stovetop. It is made with high-quality steel and a built-in thermometer for a great coffee brewing experience. You can use the Barista Warrior Kettle on almost all the heat sources and the pouring control is great.

The pour-over kettle provides a quick way to make good coffee that you can watch as it all comes together. So satisfying. Just pour the hot water into the coffee grounds at the top of the steel filter, and it will be ready once it comes out into the glass pot at the bottom.

Reusable Filter

Unlike paper filters which are disposable and leech out the taste into the coffee, this filter will still make smooth coffee but with an even fuller body and richer flavor.

It is compatible with Hario V60 and Chemex, which is excellent for any coffee lover. Also, it’s dishwasher safe, making it incredibly hassle-free for anyone to use and reuse.

Final Thoughts

The Barista Warrior French press is a robust make that will take anyone’s home-brewed coffee to the next level. The barista-quality construction makes the whole experience that everyone is used to even more effective for savoring the flavors and aromas naturally stored in the coffee beans.

The insulation and stainless steel body, not to mention the built-in thermometer into the handle of the press, is perfect for maintaining ideal temperatures. Your coffee stays hot for longer.

So whether this is for preparing multiple cups of coffee in advance or brewing a pot for a busy couple who can’t stop to sit immediately once the kettle boils, this is well suited.

This designed press comes with a warranty for the first year, but that’s because they’re sure you will love using this French press.
